As my art is conceptual, it can sometimes have a shocking impact, and it often shows a reality that people don’t want to see.

– Angela Corson

My purpose is to communicate with my audience through what I can create with my hands, as I feel that although language is a useful tool it also has many limitations. The realization that each artistic medium is also limited in its own way drove me to explore multiple media; I can communicate something with clay that cannot be expressed on a canvas, or I can evoke a mood with charcoal that would lose its simplicity if rendered in oil.

I make art that is figurative with narrative associations and that is political in content. It has a strong component of social commentary and it seeks to illuminate injustices.
